A smile after the storm

Can you still smile after the typhoon left you nothing?

The photo was taken the day after the Typhoon "Sendong" hit the Philippines, that leave more damage and casualties in cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro. The typhoon was dramatic as it snatched thousands of people living in both cities. Leaving them homeless and unfortunately leaving them grief and sorrow for their missing and dead loved ones.

The tragedy was painful indeed, with no clothes, not enough food, no water and no house that you will call home again. However, the Filipinos are strong, they seemed to have made to face all the trials in life. I've heard some saying they can no longer do anything about the incident it already happened and they must move on. Its so touching hearing this line since the one talking is the one who had lost a family.

Moving on is the best solution, thinking of ways how to build their home again and this time build it in a more safer place. A lot of people are reaching their hands to help those affected families, donations ascent into great heights, psychological help where given to those victims and services were offered for free.

It's not a sad ending after all, because of what happened we were united with one goal; one passion to stand hand in hand in helping these victims. We gave them hope to stand once again and face tomorrow with a smile on their faces.

It's hard to smile after such tragedy, but remember we are Filipinos, we are happy people and we can face any challenges in life that we just give it a smile and say "sisiw lang yan" :-)
